Anita Glesta’s artistic career has straddled private and public worlds for over three decades. Her installation-based art works have been exhibited in galleries, museums and alternative spaces including many sites in the public internationally. Public art has been paramount to her vision, connecting community through interactive and engaging works.
Nature and the human body have been constant sources of inspiration for Glesta. Her projects have had many long life spans as finished works.

Anita Glesta has had solo exhibitions in the United States and abroad, most notably at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Krakow (MOCAK); Museum of Art and Archaeology at Peking University, Beijing; The Hudson River Museum, NYC; Black and White Gallery, NYC; White Box, NYC; White Columns, NYC; Five Myles Gallery, NYC; and others. Group exhibitions include, The New Museum Festival of Ideas, NYC; Sculpture Center, NYC; The Lyman Allen Museum, CT; Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia; The Brooklyn Museum, NYC; The Queens Museum, NYC; Performance Space, Sydney; LACE Gallery, LA; Centro De Espana, Mexico City; and numerous others. 
Her public art commissions include two permanent sculpture commissions: The Yurong Water Gardens in Sydney, and the integrated landscape at the Federal Census Bureau building in Suitland, Md commisioned by the General Administration Services Art in Architecture.
Numerous  outdoor video installations include the Royal National Theater on the Thames, London; Brooklyn Public Library, Red Hook; The Customs House at Ellis Island, NYC; Big Screen Plaza, NYC; and The Princeton Arts Council, NJ.

Grants include the New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, The New York State Council of the Arts New Media, Pollock/Krasner, Puffin Foundation, and Australia Council CEAD grant.
Anita Glesta is currently an ARC Laureate Research Fellow working on a PHD in new media and neuroscience at UNSW fEEl lab, Sydney.
